A brand new mid-frequency, multi-asset quant fund, seeded by one of the most successful hedge funds in the world has launched in Paris with $500mil. And they are now looking to hire their first Python Quantitative Developer to work directly with the Quants/PMs and CTO. This would be the 6th member of the team.

This is a really unique opportunity to join an early stage start-up, with all the excitement, greenfield development and opportunity to make an impact that you get at a start up, but with the security and backing of a huge, well-known, extremely successful hedge fund. The team have big plans and ambitious goals - and you could be part of their success! There is huge scope for how this role evolves - and getting in early means you can really influence that. They have big plans to trade across multiple assets, multiple exchanges, and become the next global, multi billion $ quant fund.

They have a modern tech stack, using Python 3.11 and moving to 3.12. They also use some R, so knowledge of this would be a plus.

So, what skills are they looking for?

- Proficient in modern Python (3+ years of experience):

- Strong understanding of Python libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas).

- Knowledge of scikit-learn or ML frameworks would be a plus.

- Databases (SQL, NoSQL, kdb, ORM, etc.).
- Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, MSCloud).
- DevOps experience (Jenkins, CI/CD, Gitlab, etc.).
- Ability to collaborate - participate in code reviews and champion best practices.
- Confident managing multiple projects at the same time, and effective time management.
- Happy to work in a small, tight-knit team where you really need to take ownership of your work.
- An understanding of financial products like equities, fixed income, FX, commodities, etc.
- Experience working within electronic trading (hedge fund, prop shop, Bank, FinTech or crypto business).
- Passion for cutting edge technology, and a drive to stay on top of modern computing.

Does that sound like you? This role will be involved in a real mix of technical and quantitative projects, including:

- Consuming and transforming huge volumes of data for signal building, research and trading.
- Optimising and scaling the teams research infrastructure.
- Building and consuming RestAPIs.
- Implementing trading strategies in high performance Python.
- Setting up databases, infrastructure and tooling for efficiency.
- Building bespoke dashboards for PMs.

The team is made up of extremely successful traders and quants who are all pretty technical, but they need an experienced Python Developer to help them take their trading platform to the next level! All the core infrastructure has been built, so this is very much business-focused.
